My first year and a half of college was spent at a private Catholic college in Pennsylvania. My first semester I had to take a writing seminar class. My teacher was a grad student named Bettina. She was plump and dowdy, with brown hair that was always going in gravity defying directions. Bettina and I hit it off. I payed attention in class and didn't talk too much. We used to get hot chocolate and sit in the cafeteria. She and her husband took me out for Chinese to celebrate me transferring to a different school. Bettina was a pop culture junkie, she was devastated when Gene Rayburn died. She was incapable of walking with an umbrella. Somehow it threw off her balance and she just couldn't walk. There were many times when we met and she was soaking wet. That was just how she rolled. She had really thick glasses with a maroon frame. They fit snugly over her perfecty button nose. She wore lots of broom skirts. I never saw her wear pants. I think the only reason I did well in her class was because we were friends.
I hope you are enjoying trivia under a cloudless sky Bettina.
