Harry Potter Cover Art
What is your favorite cover art for the Harry Potter books? I have to say my vote is definitely the states. Although I think the Icelandic Harry looks chock full of attitude. I think the French versions look like they were drawn by children, maybe that's the point. I think that the British and Danish are way toooo generic.

I like the first French one... The Icelandic one makes me think of Cabaret... Featuring Joel Grey as Harry Potter. My favorite are the adult brittish versions... they remind me of novels about mysteries.
This is a neat collection. The US art seems to get a little better with each book. I wonder how many rounds of revisions Mary GrandPré has gone through each time. What I mean is: I wonder if, as the series has become increasingly popular, it's been harder or easier for M.G. to get final approval on her illustrations.
I like the German versions. Very Sprockets.
The Icelandic and the German editions are the only ones that list the artist as Joanne K. Rowling instead of J.K. Rowling... interesting.
I think I like the American versions the best. I've noticed I like the cover art on most novels here as opposed to how they're released in the UK. I remember the first one was called "The Philosopher's Stone" over there - which I thought was kind of cool.
