A woman whose writing I loved passed away last Thursday. Madeleine L'Engle wrote, among many things, "Walking On Water: Reflections on Faith and Art" one of the most inspiring and thought provoking musings on the subject. In her NY Times obituary she is quoted as having said,
"Why does anybody tell a story? It does indeed have something to do with faith, faith that the universe has meaning, that our little human lives are not irrelovant, that what we choose or say or do matters, matters cosmically."
