oh wait... that's my thinning hair... but she helped make that too...here's her diorama:

Something about this reminds me of the artwork from The Yellow Submarine (oh man, I think it's time to pull that out and watch it again... anybody wanna join me?!)
Our friends from out of town saw the diorama (and The Wifest's half complete diorama sitting in our house) and decided to go home and make their own. They declare dioramas to be the new knitting!
Now the artist will say a few words:
"personal nostalgia is very important to me. how can i enjoy positive aspects of my childhood? by dio-ing bitches!"
...well, that wasn't as much insight into her piece as I had hoped for, but you get the point.

this is great! wow!
This diorama is john-wilkes-fantastic!
stabbed? that bearded freak was SHOT, I thought! :)
I don't know that I'm sure what a diorama is . . . does that make me a loser? It's very cool though. It reminds me of Sweeney Todd :) Tomorrow is Mullet Fest and you both are missing it, complete with the fireworks show at the end. Sadly, I'll be missing it too and I'm sitting here wondering how my 4th of July will ever be complete.
that is one humbling diorama
yes jayson f. you are right, lincoln was shot with a .44 deringer one shot revolver, but after the shot booth fought briefly with one major henry rathbone who booth slashed with a dagger, then booth jumped off the balcony to the stage, an 11 1/2 foot drop, in which he broke his leg on the landing, held the bloody dagger in the air and shouted "sic semper tyrannis" thus always to tyrants, the state motto of virginia before escaping ford's theatre.
