Bless this Bebe

As I was taking the dog for her walk this morning we ran into this gal who works for her area family owned business. She is always very nice, a few years older than I am, and absolutely crazy about our dog. She has a dog that she always talks at length about to me. I often find myself being less than friendly because I roll out of bed and take the dog out, no bra, morning breath, hood up, the works. Anyway, she's chatting it up and says, "Did you get her blessed?" When I smiled and said that I hadn't she looked sad and said that I just missed the blessing of the animals last week, suggesting perhaps next year. She took her dog and she got a small St. Francis medal for her collar. Ok. Then, in a move that reminded me very much of Robert Bresson's Au Hasard Balthazar (one of the pbf's favorite films), she said that her dog has been different every since, "you know, happier." Ok. Then she asks me my name, I respond, and her eyes get huge and she gets very close to me and asks, "What's your real name?" I tell her. She relaxes a bit and explains her name is Nicole but everyone calls her my name. Well, our name.

A fun way to start the day to be sure.

Also, there is a new song on the myspace.

This makes me happy because I thought I dreamed this: I was driving home a few days ago and saw a church marquee about having your animals blessed. I didn't really know what that meant, but I pictured the church full of puppies and cats and parakeets and it made me kind of happy. I would have taken my cat, but he's a druid.

Love your myspace music! :)
