micro childhood

One of my favorite toys when I was a kid were Micro Machines. And not just the cars but the Travel City sets! They were sort of little boxes that held the rest of the pieces inside. When unfolded, you put the buildings onto the base, and you could attach the base to other bases which would make a big connected road. There were houses and a dump and a car wash and so on. I had a TON of them... I mean, in my mind I had the hugest micro machine city ever. I don't really know how many I had, but seems like I might of had them all. I also have a memory, perhaps false, that my mom loved them as much as I did and would play with them with me.

I wish I still had them. I think my favorite was the car wash, but I also remember the fish and chips restaurant really well. I've discovered a bunch on ebay for $10 each... I'm just saying.

A lot of the pics don't work on this site, but it seems to have the most pictures: http://www.puremicros.com/sc-psets-tc.html

Confess...you really just got hooked by the commercials where the guy listed them all super fast!

That guy merely added to the awesomeness... he also added to the awesomeness of Saved by the Bell in his guest role as a teacher.

This will come as no shock to you ... but I thought micro-machines were too adorable for words. I saw some tiny versions of a few of the cars from the Cars movie at Target (the little porche wearing the wig!). I want them. (Of course I just saw them in passing. I don't actually hang out in the toy section in Target...)

Yes, I played cars with you. I grew up playing with cars with my brothers. Now I play cars with Ruger. He has some neat ones that you shake and they rev up and take off. I still like dolls too!
