in the cold november rain...

i believe that we are all born with certain traits that make us who we are, special gifts. some people have always been the ones you go to when you need to talk it out. others you can count on for a laugh. me, i have super celebrity spotting skeelz! meryl streep at the plaza, vincent d'onofrio at the toys r' us, uma thurman at the zoo and today, a most amazing spot, a spot for the ages! my friend and i were heading down the stairs of the train station, minding our sweet business, when...i noticed a ridiculous human being with a leather jacket, huge blingy rings and the most heinous red and blonde hair extensioned braids. i recognized those braids from the 2002 MTV Video Music Awards. those were the braids of AXL ROSE. this is why i think i have a gift. from BEHIND i knew this was the lead singer of one of the most ridiculous bands of all times-guns n' roses. naturally my friend and i followed old axl onto the train and sat directly across from him. he is clearly missing the glory days because his too much cosmetic surgeried face, nasty rope-like braids and open red bull, told us he was craving attention. below is a chronological list of what happened on our 4 stop train ride with axl rose.
1) he elaborately fake punched his 50 year old, spiky gray haired, slavik accented, female companion. she flinched.
2) he remarked for all to hear that the 5 year old girl sitting next to me had shoes that light up!
3) he did his signature squeal singing if only for a moment.
and yes people, after all of this, no one except my friend and i noticed him! WTF!?!??!
what can i say, i have a gift.

Rusty is so jealous he wants to know where his autograph is. I am not being sarcastic, he can tell you which song it is from the fist few bars, how long it is, and what album it was off of. He is a GNR freak.

Ok so I'm trying to think of what songs they sang but of course my mind isn't working!

What is Axel Rose doing taking the train? I know drugs and plastic surgery are expensive, but wouldn't you think he could afford to take a car?

In the seventh grade I made out with someone else's boyfriend to November Rain at a party with a bunch of other people - not a good way to keep cheating a secret.

We flew Delta SONG to Orlando last Wednesday. One of the perks of SONG is you can create a playlist of MP3s and listen to them.

I listened to "Sweet Child of Mine," "You Could Be Mine," and "Don't Cry".

SCoM is one of my favorite songs of all time, partly because Slash's signature guitar riff started out as a joke.

Doesn't GnR have a brand new album? One that Axl Rose has been working on, mostly solo, for over ten years?

p.s. SONG is going belly-up this month. Yesterday might have been the last day. "The SONG spirit will be incorporated into the heart of DELTA," the flight attendant announced.

And of all those lists of celebrities my personal favorite story, of you seeeing MTV's greatest VJ ever - Jessie what's his face - did not even make the list. That was hilarious. You do have a gift my friend. You do.

I apologize. I never actually look to see who the author is. I just get excited because the only celebrity sighting I ever had was RL at Mulletfest on the fourth of July. When I was in London, supposedly Madonna took her kids to the park near our flat all the time but I never saw her. Or if I did, I didn't notice. Which is highly likely. Were you one of those people who could spot four leaf clovers too or is it just celebrities? :) Later Calhouns.
