IMDB Debacle

Like many people, my obsession is IMDB. lately i have started to read the message boards attached to certain performers or films because they are the most hilarious and pathetic musings, almost as hilarious and pathetic as this. anyway i found my way to dakota fanning's page. her message board gets used a lot, but mostly for a 15 year old actress named kasey and her tale of woe. here are all of kasey's postings since december 2005, hilarious and pathetic.

Everyone,

You know how my website link in in my signature? Well, I got an email from Sam Montgomery (she has an IMDb, you can look her up as "Sam Montgomery"). It could have been someone pretending to be her, so me and my dad are checking it out. Well, anyway, she said she is a writer for Paramount and is writing a movie about a mentally challenged girl and her hardships, and she wants me for the part. She says she wanted Dakota, but she is too busy. Now, I knwo this sounds so fake, because I'm not even a real actress yet, but me and my dad are checking it out to see exactly how real it is, so I'll find out soon. But for now, this so so cool! She told me she was at this board and clicked on my link and thinks I'm perfect. I don't know why on earth she would choose me as her second choice to Dakota, and that's the part that makes me think its fake, but I think if she were going to pretend to be a Paramount writer, she would choose someone to pretend to be that had a few more credits. Anyway, if this turns out to be real, isn't that cool? Tell me what you think of this...

I'm definetly being very cautious and told her to talk to my dad and gave her his email, but what if this turns out to be real?

Oh yeah, I know that, but I haven't had any news from anything fr awhile, so even if this turns out to be completely trash, it will still be fun to deal with. I know all that.

I know you need an agent, and that's not how it works and all, but I'm getting an agent VERY SOON, so if everything works out with that, other things can be arranged around it. I'm just happy my site has gotten ANY hits, at least this board is somewhat promotional.

I'm pretty sure you don't have to pay for agents at all. They make your profit by getting you work, and that's how you can be sure they're actually trying. Because if you don't get jobs, they don't get payed. I might be wrong, or maybe some agents you have to pay for, I'm not sure, but what I've heard is that you don't pay them to find you work.

Thanks a lot-- I really appreciate it. And also, no, he hasn't seen me act. He's just taken a look at my resume and gotten a rough idea that I maybe have even just a little bit of talent, and he's very nice and supportive to me. What makes you think my life is so sad?

I just don't see why we need to go back and reply to threads no one looks at anymore. I'm not stupid-- when the woman replied (which she only did a week or two ago!) and said she was a free-lance writer and went from one company to the next and didn't have a Paramount address, and assured me that the "part is VERY real", I knew she was no one I wanted to interact with. I told her she shouldn't be in contact with me, and not only because there shouldn't be direct contact between the actor and the writer without an agent, but that I was a minor, and she was NOT handling herself very responsibly.

Yes, I can take care of myself, and my life is not "sad". I have actual feelings and hobbies and likes and dislikes, I don't just sit around on message boards and pout about not having a career. I'm 15, careers are not m biggest priority right now.
